When we download a file in Google Chrome, it downloads the file to a default location automatically without prompting. The default location Downloads folder on Windows and macOS.
After downloading if you want to put the file on another location, you need to browse the download folder and then move the file. To make this easier, you wish to set Chrome to prompt the download location each time you start downloading. After this, you can directly download the file to the location you want.
Follow these steps and set Chrome to prompt the download location each time:
Click on the menu icon and then Settings.
Now click Downloads from the left sidebar.
Here select the tick mark saying “Ask where to save each file before downloading”.
Now Google Chrome will prompt the download location each time you start downloading. If you want to change the default download location, you can change the download location path.
