How to edit a sent message in iMessage
Now Apple allows users to edit a sent message in iMessage. So, you can correct a mistake if you did a misspelling or any other thing that you want to correct. iMessage is a popular messaging app that Apple users use to talk to their friends. In recent years, Apple has improved it a lot to make it like any other social messaging app. With iOS 16, Apple now lets users edit a sent message.
Before you know how to edit a send message in iMessage, you should know that you can edit a message only within 15 minutes after sending it. If 15 minutes have passed, you cannot edit the message. Apple could increase or decrease this time in the future. But, this is 15 minutes at the time of writing this article.
Now let’s see how to edit a sent message in iMessage.
Open the iMessage app and then open a conversation. Now send a message. Within 15 minutes after sending the message, long tap on the message that you want to edit. It will open a few options including an option to Edit. Tap Edit and it will then allow you to edit the message. After editing, send it again.
You will see the Edited link just below the message you edited. It will also be shown to the other person. Tapping on this link will show you edit history.
Edit history has been added to avoid any confusion or abuse. Another person can easily see what you corrected.
